Start your download and while it will be slow, it WILL get past the file you're trying to get. Open up TorGuard, set it to Chicago (if you're in the US), and make sure you check TCP (this is important).

Make sure the patcher is closed out completely before you star the VPN. The answer for me was to download TorGuard. The reason that VPN's haven't worked in the past is because most of the free ones use UDP and also have a bandwidth limit.

patch file is downloaded, it will uncompress said file into your game installation directory wherever that may be on your own system. The patched files are downloaded to your "Computer Name/Documents/My Games/ FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn" folder (if on Windows 10). You need to make sure ports 443 and 80 are being forwarded as these are common ports that the launcher will use when patching. The patch files are not all hosted on 1 server but the particular file in question IS so your ISP is likely flagging it. The files are being hosted via Akamai and APNIC which your ISP is likely flagging due to P2P being a common method for which torrents are downloaded. The issue is pretty simple as it took me almost a month to figure it out. It's not an issue with the registry, the harddrive, etc. If multiple people are having the exact same issue at the exact same spot with the exact same product then clearly there's an incompatability between said product and the makeup of the machines the product is being installed to. looks pretty cool.Įxcept that makes it 100% mandatory that everyone have to download the expansion files and the DX11 files even if they don't want to use them. If it fails, Im not going to check it out. and if Square Enix is going to offer games on Steam, you would think they would give them the most recent (at least a version that doesn't require an additional 16Gb Download - a few gigs, maybe. Im 4Gb into the DL now.Īwful lot of trouble to just check out a game, thats for sure. So, tossed everything and got the launcher straight from Square Enix. There's a hundred plus posts on this forum advising you not to do this. You're literally stating the problem is you keep attempting to verify the cache and start over from the beginning. So, I let it go and around 8.6Gb it failed again. After downloading around 16Gb from Steam, the launcher STILL wanted 16Gb. Look, another 7.7Gb to download? Ok, really weird. Gonzo1970 původně napsal:I decided to check files with Steam. Thanks to those that helped me troubleshoot up to this point. I've spent the better part of a week trying to troubleshoot this and at this point I'm just going to throw in the towel.

Just for giggles, I had another system here that I brought online with a fresh Windows 10 install. I'm still not done with the download but at least it is still moving, so I thought you all might want to try this step. It cruised right past the 450-480MB mark where it had been returning download errors. I reopened the launcher and started up the download again.

At the next pop-up box, check the Full control box under the Allow header in the Permissions for Authenticated Users section (mine was unchecked), then click Apply. Nothing worked until I went to the main directory where the files are being installed to (in my case, 'D:/Games/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn', went to Properties, then Security, then the Edit button for changing permissions. Sarusarusaru původně napsal:FWIW, I've been trying to resolve this issue for a few hours, tried the port forwarding, VPN, etc.
